Is it terrible that I want this to be how the show ends? Everyone putting aside millenia of war and hatred and just learning to live together again.
GOD I AM AN INTERNET SAP.
THIS. I want this!
I WANT AT LEAST ONE TRANSFORMERS CANON WHERE IT ENDS LIKE THIS. WHERE THERE’S ACTUAL RECONCILIATION BETWEEN THE AUTOBOTS AND THE DECEPTICONS. BECAUSE THEY’RE STILL ALL CYBERTRONIANS.
Addendum to this: Just ONCE I’d like to see an endgame TF canon (which I would argue that TFP is, like Bayverse is, despite the zillions of Vehicons and Insecticons running around) that acknowledges that the war is driving their people to extinction. And not with a single waved-off sad comment about Cybertron’s destruction as a viable planet, I want to see this acknowledged with the gravity that I think it so richly deserves?
We are seeing it a little bit in IDW right now, specifically RiD, which is nice, although it’s a slightly different case because Cybertron was reverted to a primordial state or… something. (Forgive me, there’s a LOT of canon between All Hail Megatron and the start of MTMTE and RiD that I’m only somewhat acquainted with.) The planet is at least still alive, and numbers have never been a problem for the Cybertronians in IDW. Yes, they need to tame the planet and overcome the cultural hurdles presented by the war, but it’s lacking a little bit of that endgame desperation that you get a taste of in Bayverse and, to a lesser extent, TFP— the feeling that if the Cybertronians can’t end the war and get their shit together, their entire species is done.
I know it’ll never happen, but a girl can hope, huh?
