Debra is someone I’ve known and loved for many many years. She desperately needs to see someone for her seizures. I feel absolutely powerless to help someone who’s literally never been given any help in her entire life. She has no family to provide care or financial support. Because of her seizures she can’t drive or work a job. The government refuses to help, ERs won’t take her or free clinics. She can’t even get disability unless we get her to a doctor to ‘prove’ she has seizures. She needs medication to STOP these frequent seizures. I don’t know what else to do but turn to this website.
Posting on behalf of a friend. I can vouch that this is a good cause and the money is desperately needed while my friend works on getting Debra long-term financial assistance. Please consider donating!
Hey followers, it would really mean a lot to me if you’d consider tossing a couple of bucks into this fundraiser. Debra is a close friend of my girlfriend, and her situation is the most heart-breaking thing.
I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that being without medical insurance when you’re financially underprivileged in the US is a completely hellish experience. I’m lucky enough to be relatively hale, so it’s an academic fear for me; I can’t imagine how hopeless it must seem for someone with a chronic illness like this. Debra’s seizures are severe enough to prevent her from finding a job, so she can’t afford to pay for medical care; she can’t get treatment for her seizures, so it’s impossible to get well enough to find a job. It’s a recursive, endless cycle, and she really needs some help, but she’s given up hope for herself so it’s up to us.
If there’s anything you can spare, please, every little bit will go towards helping Debra tackle the suite of expenses necessary to see her seizures diagnosed and treated, as well as helping pay for things like transportation to and from appointments, and well as testing and treatment for other satellite medical issues related to her main problems. If you can’t donate, then please, PLEASE signal boost— the farther this gets spread, the better Debra’s chances.
Thank you for reading and for anything you can do.
