From such humble beginnings came the infuriating juggernaut that is the modern Botcon.

Puggleformer Road Trip!

As you may or may not know, this year I attended my very first Botcon with my roommate Saeru and my girlfriend Dirge! We sold a lot of painstakingly handcrafted merchandise, saw some cool things, met and hung out with some awesome people— and last but not least, indulged our collective inner Dirges and BOUGHT STUFF.

And hands-down the most precious of all the things we brought home from the con with us was a clutch of Puggleformers!

While the rest of our acquisitions were carefully packed away in the back of Sae’s van for transport, the Puggleformers refused to be shut away from the adventure of going home. So they all piled into the front seat with me— or should I say, on me?— for the trip back to STL.

Dirge found a picture of our Botcon booth on Seibertron! We’re on the right, but that’s only about half our booth, sadly.

Lookit my dumb little head peeking over the wing/ear cuff display!

BOTCON OR BUST.

I’m going to have limited-to-no internet access while we’re on the road and in Dallas, so I’ll see you on the flipside, Tumblr!

BOTCON PRODUCT PREVIEW: Autobot-inspired ear cuffs!

Botcon is a go again after all! I still might not be able to attend personally, but at the very least my partners in crime business will be there, and my stuff will be going with them!

So with that in mind, here’s a peek at a few more of the jewelry designs I’ll be offering there~ On the left we have matched earrings inspired by the twin terrors Sunstreaker and Sideswipe, and on the right is a design inspired by everyone’s favorite dinobot, Grimlock!

BOTCON PRODUCT PREVIEW…?: Knock Out and Breakdown-inspired ear cuffs

It’s still up in the air whether or not we’re going to Botcon— most of our product falls into the grey area between fanart (permissible) and third party/unlicensed merchandise (non-permissible) and con staff haven’t responded yet to our query about whether it’s allowed— but that doesn’t mean I get to stop stocking.

So here are some TF-inspired ear cuffs, in honor of our favorite dynamic duo! I specifically wanted these to complement each other, so they share a lot of design elements. I’m pretty pleased with how they came out, myself. Now I just gotta get my hands on more of those little wheel charms so I can have more than one of each available. XD

Thanks Botcon.

6thclone:

Welp.  Botcon has pretty much made us have to axe our table.

If anyone out there has any further information or concrete details on what is and isn’t permissible merchandise, that’d be great. All we’ve got to go on right now is that Cally’s Puggles are acceptable because they’re handmade “parody” items, but unofficial fanart is verboten because it infringes on Hasbro’s IC.

Regardless, it’s noooot looking good for us.

Unpleasant 2am realization:

I had been totally forgetting to figure in things like travel, food, and hotel costs into my mental estimation of what my upcoming cons are going to cost to attend, whoops. This is important because I don’t start making money until I’ve cleared the hump of attendance costs and overhead and borrowing into what I’m presuming I’ll make in order to actually afford supplies and food.

Turns out it’s going to cost a lot more to do the Anime STL-Botcon double whammy than I’d realized. And of course it goes without saying that I’m dead broke, and I don’t think I’ll be any less broke between now and then.

So I’m calling it here and now: I probably won’t be attending Botcon this year after all. If I can make $3800 worth of stock between now and then, I’ll be able to re-evaluate, because at that point even if I don’t sell well, I ought to still make cost back on sales at the two cons. But given that I already can’t afford to eat, much less the piles of supplies and raw materials I still need…

Well, it’s basically a pipe dream, and I’m an idiot for thinking I could manage this.

But don’t worry, even if I’m not there, what merchandise I have been able to complete will be. And that’s all that really matters, right?

BOTCON PRODUCT PREVIEW: Mini G1 cassette cosplay wings!

I don’t know about you guys, but I always found Rumble and Frenzy’s little wing/shoulder-mounted blaster things to be really, really adorable. From the very first day I started thinking about stuff to bring to Botcon I knew I wanted to do cassette wings. I don’t even know if anyone out there still cares about G1 Rumble and Frenzy???

But here they are anyway, ‘cause Nella does what she wants. :3 At the very least I know I will be wearing them! (Spoiler: I am wearing the prototype right now.)

BOTCON PRODUCT PREVIEW: Mini G1 Seeker cosplay wings!

Unlike the bigger Seeker wings I have listed up in my Etsy shop currently, which are actually based on the Revoltech toy design, these little buggers are accurate to the original cartoon! I’m fairly pleased with the way these have turned out, personally.

What d’you guys think?

>wake up in the morning
>feed cat
>take shower
>hop online
>DAY INSTANTLY RUINED

Merciless Primus. Looks like I might not be going to Botcon after all, mreh.

That’s right, friends and fans, it’s time for something a little different from our usual Kingdom Hearts and Invader ZIM-related content. For the next six days, we’re going to be hosting a special Transformers Appreciation Week here at the orgXIIIorg Tumblr!
You see, all of us here at orgXIIIorg are huge Transformers fans, but looking at the products we offer so far, you wouldn’t know it, would you? But we’ve been working on a lot of fun things behind the scenes lately, and we think it’s about time to show you what we’ve got!
Every day this week we’re going to be showcasing all sorts of Transformers-related things that we’ve been working on. From prototypes for new products to personal projects to cosplay, we’re happy to share with you guys a bunch of fun stuff we did recently, and give you an idea of one of the directions we hope to go in 2012!
(At least when it comes to Transformers merchandise. Don’t worry, we have fun new stuff from some other fandoms coming soon!)
And what prompted this sudden explosion of Transformers love on our part, you might ask?
Well, we are happy to announce that we will be bringing our products to Botcon and TFcon! That’s right, orgXIIIorg’s contributors are working hard to have a whole bunch of exciting new products ready to roll out for Botcon and TFcon 2012.
So stay tuned, Transformers fans, because the ride starts tomorrow!

So as you may or may not know, orgXIIIorg is the fandom-based crafting and cosplay group that I’ve been working with for the past year or so. We have a bunch of really cool stuff available online but it’s almost all based on video games, like Legend of Zelda and Kingdom Hearts, or cartoons like Invader ZIM.
Well we’re looking to change that. All this week we’re going to be showing off TF stuff that we do— like Dirge’s plushes and my wings— to try and generate some interest before we bring everything to Botcon in April and TFcon in July.
It would mean a lot to me if you’d follow along and take a look. Thanks, everyone!
